2016 Ford Vehicles With SYNC Updated With CarPlay & Android Auto

How To Use Applink With Sync 3 2022

A new software update will allow all owners of a 2016 Ford vehicle to utilize CarPlay and Android Auto. Ford owners can bring their vehicle to a dealership for assistance with the update or perform it themselves. Ford’s official website allows vehicle owners to download the update and install it with a USB drive. Ford vehicles equipped with WI-FI capabilities will automatically download the update. Owner of older Ford vehicles without the CarPlay option will be able to enjoy CarPlay and Android Auto functionality by purchasing aftermarket receivers. SYNC 3 supports Android Auto and Apple Car Play and is currently available on all 2017 Ford vehicles.

Android Auto enables the usage of various Android smart phone apps such as including Google Maps, Google Play Music, text messaging and other apps via voice commands on the display screen.

Apple CarPlay allows Ford owners to control iPhone apps via the touch screen, steering wheel controls or voice. Features include the ability to make phone calls, listen to music, receive directions, and traffic updates.
