INTERIOR
The 2020 Explorer has had it’s interior revamped and it is stunning as well as functional. Although laden with rich materials and clean finishes, this interior was built with the family in mind featuring seemingly endless cupholders as well sliding second row seats for easy access to the third row as well as an abundance of stowage space and a hands-free lift gate. The new interior is anchored by a beautiful 10.1-inch touchscreen that is attached to the center console and it features Sync3 and FordPass Connect technology. Complementing the high-end feel of the display is an Active Noise Cancellation system as well as five different massage settings for the two front row seats. Other interior highlights include a 12.3 inch digital gauge cluster, Amazon Alexa support, Apple CarPlay support, Android Auto support, Wi-Fi that connects up to 10 devices, a B&O 14 speaker audio system as well as many other features. The new 2020 Explorer’s interior is spacious, stunning, functional, and tech laden but still provides a familiarity that is comforting.
EXTERIOR
The 2020 Explorer exterior offers a new but familiar and comforting look reminiscent of previous versions. Although displaying a traditional window line from previous models there are still some very noticeable changes. Overall, the appearance is much more sportier. The fascia gets slimmer headlight housings, and the grille is more geometric in shape, with the front end being a little shorter. The Explorer sports a roofline that slopes a bit more than the previous model and connects to a rear end that sports a new shorter chrome strip across the hatch and a lower fascia that features round exhaust tips. Finally the Explorer comes standard with statement making 18 inch painted alloy wheels. The 2020 Explorer exterior embraces it’s lineage but still subtly pushes the boundary to make it’s 6th iteration familiar but still daring.
Added Safety
In an increasingly crowded and stressful world, we can all use more confidence on the road. The 2020 Explorer come standards with the Ford Co-Pilot system, which includes blind spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, as well as many other safety features. The available Co-Pilot360+ offers an additional layer of protection with the adaptive cruise control with stop/go and lane centering, speed sign recognition and voice-activated touch screen navigation. These features help keep you covered, from the comfort of your drive to the unpredictability of the road.
